MONDAY - Critique:)

Hey guys,

You will have the client there at the meeting!! I stress - you will have the client there at the meeting. So make sure that you have everything looking as professionally presented as possible. Don't forget about your job folder. Make sure things are formated and printed and in there. Put you inspirations in there if possible as well. Your logo needs to be printed and under glass. Your auto show display needs to be printed (8.5x11 is fine) and under glass. Your brochure needs to be printed (2 copies if you can / one copy to grade and one to the client - if too expensive I understand), but most importantly it needs to be workable. Please please make sure that you pay attention to layout. Widows and orphans and typography can make and break these things and your client is familiar with these items to please make sure that you pay careful attention to the small details of craftsmanship. Don't forget to dress up and have that job folder ready!

car stuff

hey guys,

okay so the deadlines...you will need you will be carrying out the car concept into a brochure, car logo and auto show display. i will be grading these for content / how well you target your audience and as well as illustrations. don't forget that you will have to have a folder for this material completed with all the necessary paper work for the job. it will be due to critique on friday april 30th. the engineering department material we will work on as a class. i should be hearing back today or tomorrow on which logo to proceed with and what we might be needing to do. these will be counted as class exercise grades so make sure you make deadlines for that material as well. the next thing they will be needing is t-shirts so we will all come up with three concepts for them to choose from off of the logo they choose.

other news...your final project deadline will be on the 14th of may. you will have to turn in your portfolio of work for your final grade of the semester as well as your final branding for yourself as a designer. you should have a ready to send out portfolio by time you get done with class. be on the look out for a client to work for. remember this final project is a campaign and not just one piece that you are designing.

logos / illustrations

hey guys,

logo concepts need to be solidified as well as logotypes for the car by wednesday. make sure you send your design summary to me. i'll be looking them over. wednesday, come prepped to work on the torch. we should be able to knock it out on wednesday for the friday print date. also start working on illustrations for the car and concepts for your brochure. should be in a rough format (illustrations) and sketchbook (for brochure) by friday. make sure that you make the checks on these things so they don't effect your overall grade. deadlines are half of the challenge of the real world. i know this is odd having projects overlap but again...as real world as it gets.
